1. Why I No Longer Look Out The Kitchen Window

A Reddit User Bagels and Shrimp Wrote About His True Ghost Story: Three weeks ago, a family moved into the house behind ours. The house is technically in our back yard, but there is a little stream that separates our back yard from theirs. They only have one kid, and she’s about the same age as my little brother, Mike. He’s twelve. Since they moved in, that little girl has been out in the backyard day and night.

Part of me wants to say that I don’t blame her; they have a nice back yard. But she doesn’t move. The first time I saw her I was in the kitchen making popcorn for a movie, and there she was sitting on the ground staring at the stream, clutching a stuffed giraffe close to her chest with both arms. After the movie was over, she hadn’t moved an inch.

A few days later, it was about midnight when I woke up and went to the kitchen to get a drink of water. There she was. In the same spot, clutching that same stuffed giraffe. What twelve-year-old is allowed outside at midnight? My parents are still annoying about letting me go near the apparently dangerous stream.

Just yesterday, my mom and I were in the kitchen working on lunch and my mom noticed the little girl. I think she mistook her creepiness for loneliness because the next thing I knew, she was calling Mike. “Look at that poor girl, she doesn’t know anyone yet.

Go play with her and be her friend,” my mom said in her nagging voice.

“No, she’s weird. I’m playing Xbox,” Mike said in his whining voice.

“Michael, you’re weird playing those gun games in the basement all day. Go get some fresh air for once or I’m going to take away your controller for a week. And you go with them to supervise,” she said looking at me.

“I’m helping with lunch,” I pleaded.

“I think I’ll be able to manage,” she said as she edged us both out the back door.

Mike grabbed a dodgeball from the garage and we headed over. We carefully stepped on rocks and logs to cross the river and walked up to the little girl. She didn’t even look at us as we walked up to her.

“Hi I’m Mike,” my brother said.

“I am Alexandra,” she said.

“Where are you guys from?”

“Not here,” she said while starring down at the stream.

But What Happened With That Girl

“Do you guys want to play pickle or something,” I said. I was trying to get them to start playing to get this over with. She stood up, still clutching the stuffed giraffe for dear life. Mike and I arranged to start playing pickle. Mike was in the middle, and I threw the ball towards Alexandra. She let it hit her and fall to the ground.

“What the hell is wrong with you?” Mike said. He picked up the ball and started walking home. He gave up quickly I guess.

“Mike, come on,” I said, trying to lead by example. He turned around and walked towards Alexandra and threw the ball to her. This time he threw it hard. Hard enough that she couldn’t get out of the way and wouldn’t want to just let it hit her. She let go of the giraffe and put her hands up in defense of the ball. She screamed.

“Why don’t we play a little keep away?” Mike said as he snagged the giraffe out from her feet. The minute he touched it, her entire demeanor changed.

“Return that to me,” she said in a voice deeper than my father’s. I had only heard her speak a few words, but her voice was normal. It was certainly unnatural for a twelve-year-old girl.

“Mike stop,” I demanded. He didn’t listen. He started running toward the stream. It looked like he was going to take it back to our yard. Alexandra didn’t move. She closed her eyes and buried her head in her arms.

As Mike got to the stream, he was on the rocks when it happened. In a deep, demonic voice, the little girls screamed what I assume to be Latin. She kept repeating the same phrase as her body fell back on the ground in spasm.

Mike’s body went up in the air, about three feet, and slammed into the water. I sprinted into the stream, pulling his now unconscious body from the water. He had hit his head on one of the rocks on the way down. I dragged him up to our backyard and told my mom to call an ambulance.

Mike woke up in the ambulance. Physically, he was okay, he had a minor concussion and a bruised tailbone. But he hasn’t been the same since. He’s not his usual obnoxious twelve-year-old self. He didn’t play anymore Xbox last night. He just sat and stared at the blank television.

The only thing that hasn’t changed from this incident is Alexandra. Throughout all of last night and today, she’s been sitting In that spot, clutching that stuffed giraffe.

2. The Scariest Walk: A Real-Life Ghost Experience

A Reader shared His real-life ghost story with us: I was getting very bored sitting in my ancestral village. Because I had no friends in the village and everything was very slow. I contacted my friends they told me many things to do but the thing told by one of them caught my interest. She told me to listen to folklore and pass the time. We all loved to hear spooky stories and that was what I wanted to ask the folks. I went out myself and joined a group of people sitting and chitchatting.

I meet them and we all started to talk about all that stuff …………. The stories were interesting and the time spent quickly. Then as it became evening I excused myself from there and started proceeding towards my home. I was thinking of having some adventure here, which would be safe and enjoyable as well.

Reaching home I had food and started thinking over the stories narrated by the folks. They were damn good at telling stories. I enjoyed it a lot. Later that evening I asked the maid there, whether all these stories were true. She nodded her head in approval and told me to keep myself away from all this.

This turned me on. The next day there was a grand function at the ‘Planetarium Ground’. I decide to visit that place alone and through the ‘Haunted Lal Marg’ (Name of A Road). The specialty of this road was it had only one way and both sides were covered by a 7-8 feet wide walk. And behind those walls were the graveyard on both sides.

The folks said many stories about the LAL MARG And I wanted to find the truth. They had exaggerated its description and I suddenly felt attracted to that place. I just wanted an adventure and I thought exploring it was the best I could get in that damn village.

My cousin came the next morning and I was happy that there is someone of my age who I know. I told him my plan to visit the planetarium ground through the Lal Marg and he agreed as he knew nothing about it and I too decided not to tell him as I thought two are better than one.

I spent the day thinking about what will happen tonight. I had made a friend in the village till that time too. Suddenly a thought came to my mind – what if there would be nothing there. Oh, I would just be a waste. So I told that friend to come with us to use the same way but not along with us but by maintaining some distance behind us.

A Close Encounter With A Real Ghost

At first, He was shocked by my idea of even going through there but when I lured him, he was ready to go. I told him to come from behind and shout suddenly so that my cousin would be scared. But he told if something terrible happens, what to do? Then I confided him in these words: If anything happens, we will be in front of that thing and it will happen to us.

I told him about the power of God and asked him to remember Him in such a case. Then I told him that we will start at our house at 8: 30 PM and he must follow us. Meanwhile, my cousin told someone that we were going to the ground today through the Lal Marg. On returning I met that worker and he asked whether we were gonna do that.

I told him he was joking and also told him not to worry. I told my cousin not to reveal our plans to anyone. He agreed and I was thinking about the adventure we were going to have that day. I reached home but my thoughts were stuck to the adventure of Lal Marg. I and my cousin got ready and had food.

My mind was racing with imaginary situations that would happen. After the food, we both sat and chitchatted with relatives. And then at 8:30 pm, we both set out telling everyone that we were going to the planetarium ground to see the function. I was happy and full of excitement about my first encounter with ghosts if It would occur.

Reaching the periphery of the road my cousin tripped and fell, breaking his ankle. It took some time to make him come to normal. Supporting my cousin, I entered the Lal Marg. Suddenly a surprise happened before our eyes. There was a middle-aged man standing there. It appeared as if he was waiting for us.

Reaching there he asked me “Hey, surely you are going to planetarium ground. I’m gonna accompany you. I felt shocked as to how did he know our plan? But my cousin was heavy so I was grateful that his weight on my arms would be eased due to this stranger. We started the journey.

Suddenly he asked us “Hey don’t you feel scared, roaming at this haunted place alone .?.?.?.? That too at night .?.?.?.?

We both replied, “This place is haunted !!!!!. Oh My God we didn’t know It “(Obviously, I was acting in front of my brother.)

Then he replied, “Relax Yar (Friend), When I am with you, none can harm you, innocent boys.”

His reply was soothing. He then began to ask about both of us and we told him everything. By mistake, my cousin blurted, “You villagers are so dumb, you don’t take care of anything, you know only to spoil. Unworthy Idiots. Just so dumb.”

This provoked everything. Suddenly he was angry. His red bloodshot eyes showed no mercy.

Suddenly Things Changed Badly

And he spoke, “What do you think you are very smart. You damaged our village. You are the ones only responsible for this. You turned this place into hell. Some people from the city came and killed me & owned my land by treachery. You made this street haunted. You, city people, don’t deserve hospitality. You deserve anger, rage, and corporate behavior.”

We were shocked to see him like this. The tone of his voice had gone too harsh and he was in no good mood. Suddenly my cousin saw his legs. They were inverted. Seeing this he was scared to his wits. Even I saw and my condition was no better than him. The end of the road was a little away and was visible.

We started racking our brains when suddenly my cousin did start speaking “Hey man book down I was just joking was testing your temperament. We were …..

The man spoke in between, “Lies, You City People Always Lie. You will Have to Pay for That.”

Suddenly some car horn caught our attention it was from the opposite direction and my friend’s voice came from the other side. The man in the car was my uncle and I identified his car and then ………….

Then everything was dizzy. My eyes adjusted to the light and I was seeing many faces in a blur surrounding me. Coming to my senses I saw That they were the faces of my relatives. I got up and asked the uncle what happened. He told us he began searching us as we didn’t upturn till 12 and then when he was passing through the ‘Lal Marg’ he saw us both.

But as soon as he reached there we both fainted. I asked him did he see a man with us he nodded in disapproval and told him that my friend too came from behind the same instant and he too didn’t witness anyone. I and my cousin knew that we were narrowly saved and the man disappeared into the air.

We were frightened to speak it to anyone and never ever will try going through there in our life. We had enough adventure for our lifetime. But now too the sentence repeats in our head in that harsh voice.

“You Will Have To Pay For That.”

3. But Why Did They Scream?

A Redditor Campfire Phantoms Shared Real Ghost Story of His Life: Me and two of my friends, let’s call them Mario and Luigi. We had just got off school. We usually walked home together and this wasn’t different. We were near Luigi’s house when Mario spoke up about having some weed and asked if we wanted to go smoke it at our usual spot in the woods. Luigi and I agreed pretty quickly. So we kept walking down the road.

We decided to just go on a 2-mile walk to the edge of our town where it was a forest. Usually, we just drive but this time walked. We crossed the bridge and started hiking the trail. About a mile into the forest we reached our spot for smoking. It was a circle we make for hanging out, that was near a comforting river. Usually with more friends.

And we had scavenged some material for chairs like tires and dumped boxes. So a bowl was packed. It was smoked, It was enjoyed. While packing the second bowl, Luigi spoke up about a weird feeling he had. He said “Anyone else feels paranoid, like bro I swear we’re being watched” and I responded with “It’s the weed, we’re chill.”

He seemed to feel a little better then Mario joined in with the comfort of his own. So we started to smoke the second bowl and in the middle of it, we heard a scream. A loud scream! Like not loud to where it sounded far away. But right next to us! We freaked out looking in the direction of the scream. And it was just some guy.

He was walking the trail but it was what he wore that stood out. You know besides the scream. He wore this red robe. Like think a Klan robe but red and without the pointy hat. He didn’t seem to notice us. So what was the scream for? Just then another man in a red robe stepped out of the woods.

From Behind Us and He walked along the river we were by to meet his “friend.” They started up the trail further just talking. We all gave each other glances, not “let’s get out of here glances” but “let’s go follow glances” I know, Stupid. So yes we did follow them like 50 yards behind, and we didn’t say a word to each other.

A Mistake That Could Take Our Lives

Consciously making an effort to quiet our footsteps. We were just confused, and probably scared. But we didn’t say it out loud. But we kept going because we “gotta look tough for the boys.” I don’t really know. I know I didn’t have a solid reason, I just followed. Eventually, they stopped At a campsite and we stopped too.

Then we heard other voices, a lot of voices. We got close enough to not be seen but we couldn’t make out anything they were saying. We counted 8 total red robe men. So altogether there were ten. We stood at the edge of their camp behind trees and a mound that hid us. We were on our stomachs for about 2 minutes trying to listen when we heard footsteps behind us.

We turned suddenly, and of course. A red robe had been behind us. Dammit! We were caught and before we could react. The man lightly tilted his head back, took a deep slow breath, and let out a horrific scream. No words in this scream. Just a scream. We got up and ran out of there as fast as we could.

Practically pushing this guy out of the way. Full sprint from start to finish. Luigi says he turned to see 4 red robes running after us. But I didn’t look back. So I don’t know for sure. But I definitely heard some of them chasing us. We had all done cross country so thank god we had the stamina to run all the way down the trail.

I think they stopped chasing way before but we still kept running. We ran the mile back to the road, and two miles back home and made sure we weren’t followed. It definitely sobered us up. It was easily the scariest moment of my life. Probably the same for the other two.

The run seemed to last forever, but in reality was about 20 minutes. Only after all of this did we question. What was that meeting in the woods? Why did they wear red robes? And why did they scream?

4. A Drive Back To Home: True Ghost Story Happened In India

A User mainakbiswas02 on Your Ghost Stories shared his true ghost story: I am sharing one of my recent experiences. Although I still cannot figure out the reason for this, but it actually happened to me. It was already dark and I was returning from Pune (India). Tired of driving at a stretch, but fully awake. I was crossing Lonavala, there is a strange thing that happens in a section, it’s about 500 meters stretch and you will face that the speed of the car starts dropping down.

Even though you press your accelerators, but nothing happens, the speed drops quickly, even though it’s not a climb, it’s a straight road. I haven’t got a clue about this. But never mind, this is not what I want to share. There is a high accident-prone area in the Ghats and you will notice, an accident happens every second day on that road.

But surprisingly most of the accidents happen in a particular section of the road only. I noticed an accident on that stretch on Wednesday night while coming from PUNE and something weird happened with me on Thursday night in the same section. While I was driving slowly in the line of other cars, I was drained out in myself with full days of meeting and work.

But it’s not that, I was hallucinating because of that. I could clearly remember that I was alone in my car and suddenly, I saw a man sitting in my back seat. I, now also, can remember his face. He was an average-looking guy, clean-shaven, wearing a white shirt, smiling at me. I saw him from my real window and smiled at him.

I was surprised, thinking that when I didn’t stop my car anywhere, neither given anyone a lift, then how come someone can enter the car. I felt that something was wrong, and when I saw again, there was no one. Still, I am not getting the whole situation or incident which happened to me.

But then it was not over, I was coming out of this, and then suddenly I saw the same man, running parallel to my car. I got a shock, that how come cars behind me are not blowing horns to him? He came here to my front door window and again smiled at me, but this time, I was frozen. It was so much shocking that I forgot that I was driving the car.

But fortunately, I recollected what I was doing and got a hold of it. Although, I have a unique interest in reading and experimenting with a whole lot of paranormal stuff, but to understand this and give an explanation of such an incident is hard for me.

5. The Eyes are Watching Me Everywhere

This Scary Ghost Story comes From A Redditor Recludus: I bought a new house in the small town of Winthrop. The house was cheap, but the most important part was that I needed to get away from the city. A few months ago, I had a run-in with a stalker. While I had managed to get him arrested, I couldn’t shake the feeling of eyes just constantly watching me.

I felt like there were eyes everywhere, at home and on the street, so I decided to move out into the country to somewhere with fewer people, just for peace of mind. The house itself was big and somewhat old, but otherwise very welcoming. The agent who introduced me to the house had been required to mention that a serial killer had lived here in the past, which was why the house was so cheap.

However, he, and later, my next-door neighbor Sarah, both told me to pay the thought no mind. Four other owners had lived in the house since then, and all of them were very happy with it. I loved the house. Its interior furnishings were beautiful and very comfortable. The people of Winthrop were friendly, often bringing over freshly baked pastries or inviting me over for dinner.

“Get-togethers,” they said, “were the key to making sure everyone who lived in Winthrop loved it there.”Yet after a week, I stopped “loving it.” The feeling of someone watching returned, worse than before. I tried to ignore it, but soon I started losing sleep. Giant bags grew under my eyes and I began yawning almost as much as I breathed.

Sarah was kind enough to let me stay in her house for a few nights. It was during this time that I heard the legend of Forrest Carter, the serial killer who had lived in my house. While no one knows his exact kill count, Carter, also known as the Winthrop Peacock, was a man with an extremely severe case of narcissism.

Legends say that he couldn’t fall asleep if he didn’t feel like he was being watched. He was finally arrested for putting up a scarecrow to watch him during the night. Only it wasn’t a scarecrow. Carter had murdered a 17-year-old girl, just so her corpse could stare at him.

The story gave me shivers, and after I went home, I felt like there were hundreds of pairs of eyes just watching me no matter how I turned. Today, however, was the first day that I acted out. I was cooking breakfast when I felt the eyes. Instinctively, out of fear, I threw my kitchen knife, which lodged itself into the wall.

As I pulled it out, I found myself staring at a pair of eyes, pickling in formaldehyde. I’ve been watching the police peel away the drywall of my house for hours now. So far, they’ve found 142 pairs of eyes in little glass jars. The scariest thing is, each and everyone was staring at me.

True Ghost Stories That Will Make You Piss Yourself

6. An Encounter With A Ghost In A Haunted Hotel

Reddit User Bright_Eyes10 Shared A True Ghost Story about Strange Occurrences: When I was 15, I traveled to Europe with my family. We stayed in Ettal, Germany in a small inn for a few nights. My parents had a double [bed] on the second floor, my sisters had the double bedroom next to theirs, and I was lucky enough to have a single room all to myself at the far end of the hall.

When we went to check in to our rooms, as soon as I entered the hallway our rooms were in, I remember almost feeling as though I walked into a ‘wall’ of… bad energy? I just felt so unnerved and uneasy in that hallway, but I passed it off as an overactive imagination. I slept the first night without any issues other than waking up a few times.

The next morning at breakfast, one of my sisters mentioned feeling really uncomfortable in the hallway, almost as if the air was crushing. It unnerved me even more that I wasn’t the only one who felt weirded out, plus she was an adult at the time, so it further cemented in my head that that wing of the hotel was odd.

Later that night, I’m sleeping peacefully, when at about 2 am, I’m woken by something ripping the covers off of me and being jerked about 2 feet towards the end of the bed by my ankle. At first, I thought someone had broken into my room because when I turned towards what had grabbed me, a huge, looming black shape was visible in the darkness like a man was in my room.

I frantically flipped the light on, only to have there been nothing there. The window was locked from the inside, there was no one in the closet or the bathroom, and my room was also still locked from the inside. I stayed up the rest of the night scared, playing Cooking Mama on my DS.”

The next morning, we’re at breakfast and my sister mentions that she was up half the night because she thought she saw a person silhouetted against the wall of the room, but when she turned on the light there was no one there. It was just a bizarre and creepy experience, we checked out that day, so I didn’t get to experience anything after that, but it still freaks me out to this day.

7. The Shadow Which Made A Man Frightened

A Reddit user Makes Kid Skill Shared This True Ghost Story: I didn’t know that’s what it was called until much later. I was living in a house in Laguna Beach that had been there since the 1920s. In its history, it had been a speakeasy, a brothel, and a house for smuggling illegal immigrants. One day, my new wife and I were having an argument. I can’t even recall what it was about. She walked down the block to get a cup of coffee and cool off, and I was alone in the house.

The way the place was built was incredibly haphazard. There were a bedroom and a living room on one side, then a bathroom with two entrances. On the other side of the bathroom was a hallway that had windows on one side and two bedrooms on the other. From my bedroom, I could look across the hall into the bathroom, then through the bathroom and down the other hall.

I was standing at my dresser, and I just noticed movement out the corner of my eye and looked down there. There was… and honest to god, this gives me goosebumps just typing it, 17 years later, a black figure. It was maybe three feet tall, and it was only vaguely humanoid.

It looked like black scribbles like someone had scribbled a human shape, but the scribbles moved, like electricity arcing, that’s the best way to describe it. There was no sound that I could remember. I distinctly remember when I saw it I wasn’t afraid, just like WTF?

Then it noticed me looking at it. I can’t say it turned around, it just, focused on me I guess. Then I was scared. I didn’t move, didn’t scream, nothing, I was just frozen because it just fucking came at me, it rushed down the hall towards me. I have no idea what it intended, but as soon as it entered the bathroom, the door closest to me just Slammed shut on it.

I screamed. I yelled for my wife. She wasn’t home. I went the fuck outside, into the daylight, and didn’t go back in until she got home about 10 minutes later. I don’t believe in ghosts. I don’t believe I saw something supernatural, but I know I saw something. I don’t know what it was.

8. She Heard It Through The Wall

GoatbustersBM Shared This Real Haunted Story with Readers: Four years ago, I lived in a very large farmhouse, that was converted into two apartments. The house was known as the ”old boy’s home”. It was used to house boys with behavioral issues but was closed due to allegations of molestation. Anyway, I was living with my boyfriend and three-year-old daughter at the time.

My bedroom had a large fireplace that had been boarded up and painted over. I decided to push my bed up against it one day while I was rearranging things, It was like a headboard. That night, around 1 am I had heard a small voice saying ‘mom, mom, mommy’. I had sat up in bed but didn’t see anything.

So I reached over my boyfriend trying to grab down to grab my daughter and put her in our bed. I kept feeling around and I was still hearing the voice but I couldn’t feel her. My boyfriend woke up and turned the bedside lamp on asking me ” What the hell are you doing ”. I explained that Amelia was trying to get in our bed and I was reaching for her.

There was nobody there. My daughter was sound asleep in her room. Then the next night came. Around 1 am again my dog had started to whimper outdoor so my boyfriend got up to take him outside. You know that feeling in a bed when someone lies down next to you? Where the bed pushes in and there is a warmth in your back?

I felt that, So I assumed my boyfriend had come back to bed. I rolled over, my boyfriend wasn’t in the bed and I felt the fucking bed release pressure, whatever was laying next to me has gotten up in that second. I moved my bed the next day to the other side of the room and I never had another incident in the two years I remained in that house.

9. There Is No Reason To Be Afraid

Whoeverfightsmonster Shared Her Scary Ghost Story with Us: This short ghost story starts gently enough, with a friendly-seeming ghost playing with children, but when you learn the origins of the ghost – and just why the ghost is moving the object around the room, it quickly gets a lot creepier. Read On! When my sister Betsy and I were kids, our family lived for a while in a charming old farmhouse. We loved exploring its dusty corners and climbing the apple tree in the backyard.

But our favorite thing was the ghost. We called her Mother because she seemed so kind and nurturing. Some mornings Betsy and I would wake up, and on each of our nightstands, we’d find a cup that hadn’t been there the night before. Mother had left them there, worried that we’d get thirsty during the night.

She just wanted to take care of us. Among the house’s original furnishings was an antique wooden chair, which we kept against the back wall of the living room. Whenever we were preoccupied, watching TV or playing a game, Mother would inch that chair forward, across the room, toward us.

Sometimes she’d manage to move it all the way to the center of the room. We always felt sad putting it back against the wall. Mother just wanted to be near us. Years later, long after we’d moved out, I found an old newspaper article about the farmhouse’s original occupant, a widow.

She’d murdered her two children by giving them each a cup of poisoned milk before bed. Then she’d hanged herself. The article included a photo of the farmhouse’s living room, with a woman’s body hanging from a beam. Beneath her, knocked over, was that old wooden chair placed exactly in the center of the room.

Scary Ghost Stories That Will Leave You Sleepless

10. It was The Scariest Ghost Encounter In My Life

A Redditor Bigchallah Shared This Real Ghost Story: One day when my daughter was 2 we were having a typical ‘terrible twos’ moment. She was throwing a bit of a tantrum for about five to 10 minutes and we couldn’t get her under control. At some point, she, rather suddenly, stopped and started staring at the wall. She then started lightly giggling.

It was weird, one second she is crying and screaming and the next she is smiling and happy. Then she starts saying ‘funny lady’ over and over. We asked her who she saw and she pointed to the wall and again said ‘the funny lady.’ When we asked her to describe who she saw she described my deceased grandmother, I mean exactly described her.

She had never met her, and I don’t think had ever even seen a picture, not that a 2-year-old could remember a picture. I am not much of a believer in the paranormal, but I know for sure that my daughter got a chance to meet my Mom and that makes me happy.

When I told this story to my parents, they didn’t seem as shocked as I was. When I tried to get a response from them, they looked at me and said ‘I guess you don’t remember that you met your [deceased] grandfather when you were 3. The same exact thing happened to you 30 years ago.

11. A Ghost Who was Playing With A New Cell Phone

A scary ghost story published on CreepyPasta is being shared here: A couple of months ago, my friend’s cousin (a single mother) bought a new cell phone. After a long day of work, she came home, placed her phone on the counter, and went watch to TV; her son came to her and asked if he could play with her new phone. She told him not to call anyone or mess with text messages, and he agreed.

At around 11:20, she was drowsy, so she decided to tuck her son in and go to bed. She walked to his room and saw that he wasn’t there. She then ran over to her room to find him sleeping on her bed with the phone in his hand. Relieved, she picked her phone back up from his hand to inspect it.

Browsing through it, she noticed only minor changes such as a new background, banner, etc., but then she opened up her saved pictures. She began deleting the pictures he had taken until only one new picture remained. When she first saw it, she was in disbelief. It was her son sleeping on her bed, but the picture was taken by someone else above him… and it showed the left half of an elderly woman’s face.

12. Scary Ghost Story of Nun Chucks

Michelle Froelick Young had a creepy experience with her two-year-old daughter, submitted to Movie Pilot: When my daughter was 2 years old, I found her twirling paper towel tubes, tied with twine, in the air. I asked her what she was doing. She said she was practicing her “nunchucks”. I was very confused as she’d have no way of knowing what they were.

I asked her what she meant and she said that Adam had told her how to make them and showed her each night how to use them. She went on to say that Adam told her to practice because she may need to know how to defend herself someday. I almost freaked out but asked her what Adam looked like. She said he was tall, blond, and had blue eyes.

She said, “Mommy, You know how he looks. You know him! He died of a headache.” I had to leave the room. You see, 4 months before she was born, my tall, blonde, blue-eyed, martial arts-pro friend had died of a brain aneurysm at the age of 27. She has not spoken of him since that day, so I’m not sure if I scared her with my reaction or if she had completed her lessons.

Would you like to spend a night in the famous Crescent Hotel located in Eureka Springs, Arkansas? You would say, why not? But before you think to do so read this story carefully. The Crescent Hotel was opened in the year 1886. Unfortunately during the construction of the hotel, a worker named Michael was killed, and his ghost reportedly still haunts room 218. Yes, you read it right. Crescent Hotel is actually a Haunted Hotel.

This hotel came under the ownership of a known medical fraud Norman Baker in 1937, who fancied himself a doctor. He turned the hotel into the Baker Cancer Hospital, claiming to have the cure for the disease, however, he did not, obviously. A lot of patients died because of his negligence. Patients who died under his care were buried right in the hotel’s basement, which served as a makeshift morgue.

He was arrested in 1940, but people say his patients’ spirits are said to still remain. Since the hotel is still open, guests often say they see ghosts and hear noises during their stays. SyFy’s Ghost Hunters even has footage of something moving in the basement. If you are adventurous enough, have a visit to the Hotel Crescent.

14. Unwanted Tenants In The House of An Angry Ghost

This Terrified Ghost Story Comes from Reddit User Vanilla Gurrila: My daughter was 4 years old when we lived in our last home. I was a single mom at the time, so it was just she and I alone in the home. I always got an uncomfortable feeling in her room, particularly the closet area, but never thought much of it. Until one evening, I had put her to bed and as I was doing chores, I walked by her room and heard her whispering.

I listened for a bit, thinking she was talking to herself, but it was definitely a two-way conversation, with her saying, ‘Uh-huh…okay,’ stuff like that. I walked in and asked her who she was talking to. She smiled uncomfortably and said, ‘No one.’ I took her out into the hall and she wouldn’t say anything but I could tell she was afraid.

Finally, we went outside of the house. She said there was a man in her room who didn’t want us in the house, and he had told her this and to tell her mom to leave. I moved us out a month later. She has not since ever had an episode like this.

15. The Ghost of Bellamy Bridge In Florida

Do you love to roam about haunted places? If so, travel over this spooky bridge in Marianna, Florida. According to its official website, Bellamy Bridge has several ghost legends surrounding the structure. In the 1830s, Elizabeth Jane Croom Bellamy married a local politician Dr. Samuel C. Bellamy. On their wedding night, her dress accidentally caught on fire, which covered the young bride in horrible burns.

She initially survived, but later succumbed to death, because of a higher degree of burns. Elizabeth was buried along the banks of the Chipola River, and it was said that her love for her husband was so strong, she couldn’t rest even after the death. The deceased newlywed, dressed in white, can allegedly be seen wandering the banks from the vantage point of the bridge.

This point was built after her death. It’s said that she appears on fire either walking through the swamps or diving straight into the river as if to douse the flames, or somberly walking along the side of the river.
